Registration
The registration fee is 50 USD,
and can be paid upon arrival. The registration deadline is 4
April 2005. Registration forms can be requested from <hortasmt@avrdc.org>.
Travel to Cairo
Workshop participants should
plan to fly into and out of the Cairo International Airport (airport
code CAI). The Egyptian Ministry
of Foreign Affairs website has current visa information.
You are also advised to check with your travel agent on your
own specific visa requirements.
Nationalities of the following
countries could secure an entry visa to Egypt upon arrival in
the Cairo airport: USA, Canada, Australia, Europe, Japan, Korea,
Gulf countries and some of Arab countries such as Jordan, Syria
and Libya. Any other nationalities need pre-arrangements to secure
the visa to Egypt based on the local regulations for each country.
US CITIZEN ENTRY/EXIT REQUIREMENTS: A passport and visa are required. Travelers
can obtain a renewable, 30-day tourist visa on arrival at Cairo
International Airport for a $15 fee, payable in U.S. dollars.
Visitors arriving overland and/or those previously experiencing
difficulty with their visa status in Egypt should obtain a visa
prior to arrival. Proof of yellow fever immunization is required
if arriving from an infected area. Visit the Embassy of Egypt
web site http://www.embassyofegyptwashingtondc.org/ or the Egyptian
Ministry of Foreign Affairs website http://www.mfa.gov.eg for
the most current visa information.
Accommodations
A block of single rooms
has been reserved at the Helnan Shepheard Hotel at USD65/night
(including breakfast). Double rooms are USD 75/night. If you
are a confirmed workshop participant and wish to reserve a room,
please contact us.

Transportation between Cairo Airport and the Hotel will be arranged
