New tomato lines ready for distribution
AVRDC’s tomato breeding unit is offering four new inbred tomato lines for distribution and evaluation:

CLN2116B: a tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV) tolerant fresh market determinate line with elongated fruit weighing about 50 g. The line is also resistant to tomato mosaic virus (TMV), fusarium wilt race 1, and bacterial wilt.

CLN2123A: a TYLCV-tolerant processing determinate line with deep globe
shaped fruit weighing about 60 g, and good internal color development and
jointless pedicel. The line is also resistant to TMV and fusarium wilt race 1.

CLN1314G: a beta-carotene-rich (high vitamin A) fresh market indeterminate
line, with deep oblate to oblate, large, orange-colored fruit. The line is
resistant to TMV, fusarium wilt race 1, and bacterial wilt.

CLN2070A: a beta-carotene-rich (high vitamin A) fresh market indeterminate
line, with globe to deep globe, orange-colored fruit weighing about 50 g.
The line is resistant to TMV and fusarium wilt race 1.

Anyone interested in receiving seeds of some or all of these lines should
contact AVRDC’s tomato breeder, Dr. Peter Hanson, by email or post. People
wishing to receive seeds must arrange for an import permit, or provide a
forwarding address in a country not requiring one. AVRDC will release the
seeds under the terms of its Material Transfer Agreement.
