Research Scholarships Available

Young scientists from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam are invited to receive training on vegetable research at AVRDC for 12 months. All expenses (travel, training expenses, tuition, books, housing, and meals) will be paid for through a grant from the government of Japan. Scientists will receive a monthly stipend of $250 per month.

Scientists will conduct research in plant breeding, entomology, plant pathology, socioeconomics, biotechnology, food science or other vegetable production topics. Scientists are encouraged to use this internship to further their careers or to fulfill part of the research requirements for graduate studies at a university in their home country.

In some cases, the scientists might have the opportunity to take a limited amount of coursework at National Pingtung University of Science and Technology. All courses will be conducted in English.

Preference will be given to young scientists who have completed their Bachelor's studies. Scholarships are awarded throughout the year. For an application, please contact:
